Seven-times Wold Champion has made it clear that he does not intend to make a driving comeback once he retires, and he remains uncertain if an eighth title would mark the end of his illustrious career.

Hamilton's New Deal with Mercedes

Hamilton recently signed a two-year contract extension with Mercedes, ensuring his place with the Silver Arrows until the end of 2025. This deal also includes his teammate, George Russell. This new agreement will see Hamilton continue in the sport beyond his 40th birthday. However, he has stated that once he decides to retire, he has no plans of returning to the driving seat.

No Comeback Post-Retirement

Hamilton's stance on retirement is quite clear. He stated, "When the chapter is over, that’s when it’s over." This was in response to a question about whether he would consider a comeback after retirement, a notion he firmly dismissed. He further added, "I can’t imagine standing in the paddock or in the garage – without then getting into a car. But as I’ve said before: never say never.”

Family Plans and Career Goals

When asked about his plans to start a family, Hamilton, who has previously expressed his desire to have children, stated that he is not ready for that step yet. He said, “I don’t have time for that – I enjoy being an uncle! I still have goals with the racing car – and everything has to take a back seat. I want to do my job 100 per cent."

The Eighth World Championship: A Potential Career End?

An eighth World Championship could potentially be a natural stopping point for Hamilton's career, setting a new record in the sport's history. However, Hamilton remains uncertain about this, stating, “I never said that the eighth title would be a stop signal for me, but I’ll only know that when I actually get there.” He also emphasized the importance of having a great car to achieve significant goals in F1.

In conclusion, Lewis Hamilton's retirement plans are clear: he does not intend to make a comeback once he retires. However, whether an eighth title would mark the end of his career remains uncertain. For now, Hamilton is focused on his career goals and is not ready to start a family. His commitment to the sport is unwavering, and he continues to strive for excellence in every race.
