Charles Leclerc: New Contract Extension with Ferrari Beyond 2024

A Flourishing Partnership

 

Leclerc's impressive history with Ferrari goes back to 2016 when he first joined the Ferrari Driver Academy. After making his F1 debut with Sauber in 2018, he fully joined the Scuderia team in 2019. Since then, he has achieved remarkable wins, including five race victories and a remarkable 23 pole positions. With a fresh contract in hand, Leclerc is keen to continue striving towards his ultimate goal of securing a world championship with Ferrari.

 

Dreaming of the Podium

 

Leclerc's devotion to Ferrari's signature red suit is clear. He commented on the contract announcement, “I’m very pleased to know that I will be wearing the Scuderia Ferrari race suit for several more seasons to come,” adding, “To race for this team has been my dream since I was three years old.” Leclerc's nostalgia for the sights of the Monaco Grand Prix and his anticipation for the race season is palpable. He is positive that the best is still ahead for him and the team and expressed his desire to win the World Championship with his Ferrari family.

 

Bond Beyond the Race Track

 

Team Principal Fred Vasseur warmly spoke on the extended collaboration, “Charles’ bond to the Scuderia goes beyond that of just a driver and a team...His values and those of our team are intertwined and so it was natural for us to be in agreement on extending our collaboration.” His belief in Leclerc's determination, commitment, and exceptional racing abilities is concrete. He has faith that these traits will make a difference as they participate in future championships.

 

The Road Ahead

 

Leclerc will enter his sixth season as a Ferrari driver in 2024, supported by teammate Carlos Sainz, who is contracted to the team until the end of the year. Ferrari enthusiasts will be eagerly awaiting the launch of the team's new challenger on February 13, ahead of pre-season testing from February 21-23 in Sakhir. The first event of the campaign will be the highly anticipated Bahrain Grand Prix, scheduled to take place from February 29 through March 2.
